ANIMALS

Bear

Brown bear (ursus arctos). Over the last few years around 20 different bears have visited Lassi’s "studio".

Wolf

Wolf (Canis lupus). The first wolves came from Russia to Lassi’s feeding places at the beginning of the 2000's.

Wolverine

Wolverine (Gulo gulo). 5-7 wolverines live in Kuhmo near Wildlife Lassi Rautiainen's hide locations all year round.

Eagle

Golden and White-tailed Eagles. Every spring a pair of golden eagles nests, pairs, and regularly feeds within sight of Lassi Rautiainen’s golden eagle hide close to Oulanka National park in Kuusamo.

Woodpecker, Jay, Pied flycatcher, Redstart, Great tit, Spotted flycatcher, Sandpiper, Willow warbler, Kestrel, Swallow, House martin, Smew, Goldeneye, Black-throated dive

Lassi Rautiainen

Through his work, Lassi seeks to bring people closer to nature; to demonstrate its beauty and assure people they are safe in the wilds.

Base camp Kuikka

Kuikka is a former forest workers' residence situated in the municipality of Kuhmo.

Photo hides

The Wildlife Safaris Finland photo hides are all different, some larger and some smaller (1-5 people).

The weather at the Kuikka cabin is for a (very local, rather) continental climate.
