Checklist

for your trip to the wolf-, bear- and wolverine hides by the Russian border

Photo equipment:

• Camera
• Memory cards
• Memory card reader
• Laptop (there is a free WiFi at the base camp)
• Battery charger
• Spare batteries
• Ball-heads or a wimberley for the photo hides
• Tripod (only for photography outside the hides, depending on your activities)
• Lenses e.g.: wide angle zoom, 70-200, 300, 500mm
• Converters e.g.: 1.4, 1.7, 2.0

You can rent Nikon cameras, lenses and converters from Wildlife Safaris Finland (from 60 to 90€ /night), please notify us in advance!

Wilderness equipment:

• Rubber boots
• Hiking shoes
• Waterproof and windproof clothes
• Swimming suit (enjoy the Kuikka-lake waters after the sauna!)
• Warm clothes like woolsocks and a pullover (be equipped for any kind of weather, also in the summer)
• Sleeping bag (or rent one from Wildlife Lassi Rautiainen, 10€ /3 nights)
• Binoculars
• Headlamp

You can buy sweets and beverages on the way from the airport to the base camp, if you want to. Please notify your Wildlife Safaris Finland driver!

There is also a small kiosk in the Base camp. Don’t bring any mosquito spray, buy it in Finland, it is more effective!
